Service Dogs for our Combat Vets

A problem worth solving:

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have left many combat veterans with Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury trying to re-enter civilian society.  There are not nearly enough resources to help them and those that are available are overwhelmed.  Properly trained service dogs for combat vets who suffer from PTS and TBI are very difficult to find and
the need is growing exponentially.

Napa Service Dogs has the solution….

Our Mission

The Mission of Napa Service Dogs is to provide American combat veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury with highly trained canine companions to help restore their emotional independence and well being. NSD will provide a very high level of training for both the dogs and the veterans.

Our Vision

Napa Service Dogs provides our disabled veterans with fully trained and certified Service Dogs to help restore their physical and emotional independence. Napa Service Dogs intends to build partnerships with state and community organizations to help develop and support this goal.

Our Training Philosophy

Training a service dog should be fun and enjoyable for both the veteran and the dog.  The veteran will learn how to form a relationship with his/her dog, teaching the dog to focus and obey because he needs to, has to, and wants to.

The vet will build a strong bond with a dog who wants to focus on him.  Most dogs really just want to please their owner.
